Jammu: Coping with demands of public, Former Minister and Ex-MLA Jammu West Sat Sharma (CA) visited Ward 35 of Jammu West Assembly segment and interacted with hundreds of inhabitants of the ward on whose demand the tour was conducted by the Former Minister. Sharma was also accompanied by a large number of people including Corporator Ward 35 Yash Pal Sharma (Mantoo), Janipur Mandal President BJP Raveesh Mengi, PDD (Power Development Department) officials, UEED (Urban Environmental Engineering Department) officials, local residents and political activists of the area.

Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that the tour was conducted on demand of local residents of the area. He said that the basic objective of conducting the tour was to overcome the problem being faced by the UEED department who have taken up the construction works of streamlining the Deep Drain (Nullah) which starts from Excelsior lane and is being constructed upto Baba Mast Ram Ashram Patoli at an estimated cost of Rupees 5.20 crores with an approx length of more than 1 kilometres.

He stated that opposite Excelsior lane at Ram Vihar area of Shant Nagar, Janipur an electric pole was creating a problem in taking up construction works for the same as the pole needs to be shifted and for the same reason both the departments were asked to conduct a visit in the area so that proper synchronization could be built amongst two departments for taking up the further works for the Nullah. He also stated that after the construction of Nullah a proper streamlining of system will be achieved and in rainy season when Excelsior lane and adjoining areas were flooded with water from rains, this will not be a problem anymore for the locals.

Yash Pal appreciated the efforts of Former MLA and stated that this project needed to be executed as it caused a major problem for decades to thousands of inhabitants but after the construction of the same, a proper streamlined infra will be provided to the locals so that cleanliness can prevail everywhere in the ward and adjoining wards as well.
